Keppel Fans will say goodbye to the Old Gym
My son played in this gym for 4 years. We grew up here as we started working out with Coach Marquis back in the days. That was almost 15 years that we've been in this gym. We got used to the single stall. We got used to the concrete seats. We ran to the top to grab a seat to tape our games. We had to deal with the cold coming thru those windows. We had to deal with the heat in the summer. Ask Mrs. Sanchez & Ms. Rosso about their seats. They've been in the same seats for as long as I can remember. We tried to reserve those seats so they'd always be there but never got there early enough as the fans kept coming. These teachers are our #1 fans.
It's not the end of it all. It's the beginning of a new gym, a new era of Keppel basketball. This one suddenly will become the "old gym" or in the future the "small gym". I'm only sorry that my son never made it to play in the "New Gym" as a Keppelite. Oh wait! He will just have to come back and play in the alumni game next year.
